So say Gibbon, we just think they're mega fun - and here is your chance to win a Gibbon slack line of your choice!

Many of us will know about and even have experienced the old climbers' campsite entertainment of "slack lining". What started off as an extreme activity, exclusive to an elite niche of climbers in Yosemite is now accessible to all. Gibbon provides a wide range of slacklines and accessories that make the "sport" (yes there really are professional slackliners out there) easy and safe to access, as challenging or as easy as you want to make it.

Gibbon is the market leader and innovator – there are slacklines for beginner and expert alike. A comprehensive accessories programme including tree huggers, easy to use ratchet systems and "freedom" kits so you can slackline even without trees or in-situ supports! The art of slacklining has progressed to encompass extreme highlines, gym work out or warm up and fun back yard activity.

Gibbon Slacklines are incredibly well engineered – strong and durable, proof of this is that all Gibbon products are tested by TUV to surpass DIN79400. When you talk with Gibbon, you can really understand that they take the issue of product strength and safety as seriously as any climbing equipment manufacturer.

Despite the photos implying people doing so, please do not highline on any of these kits. They are not designed for it and none of them are safe for a multitude of reasons.

I presume they also sell kit that is suitable for highlines - something to move onto once slackline mastery is achieved?

Great freebie for someone but seriously does anyone pay for a branded “slack line “ they are just a lorry ratchet strap with a logo on !

This is a bit of an overstatement. Where is the industry canoe, surfboard, camming device, running shoe, football, tennis racket, ......? In fact, I think the list is just about endless. For most leisure industry items I would contend that the most similar industrial object would be pretty inappropriate to non-existent.

So you agree if someone has the wherewithal to tension a lorry strap there’s no need to spend £60 !
