For SS18, Hanwag has introduced a new and improved version of its bestselling and award-winning Tatra boots, the new Tatra II GTX. To celebrate their launch, Hanwag has teamed up with UKC to offer two readers the chance to win a pair.
Backed by more than 90 years of expertise, the new Tatra II GTX retains the legendary characteristics of its highly acclaimed predecessor: a tailored fit, superb comfort and outstanding stability. Updated with a new, modernized design that incorporates enhanced features for optimum comfort and performance, the new Tatra II GTX is available in male and female models and a variety of different fits including wide, narrow and bunion fits.
The updated Tatra II GTX features several updates including a new, more cushioned footbed, improved construction with flex zones around the ankle and a new lacing system with robust cast metal lace hooks and a locking lace clamp that allows the wearer to enjoy separate lacing zones around the foot and the ankle. The new boot retains Hanwag's unique Vibram AW Integral sole which is lightweight yet extremely grippy for outstanding traction on tricky terrain. The boot also features a high-quality nubuck upper and is available with either a Gore-Tex or hypoallergenic leather lining.
All Hanwag footwear is made in Europe and combines traditional, highly prized construction techniques with new innovations. The Tatra II GTX is a perfect example of Hanwag's hand-crafted approach. Each pair of boots is made from 25 carefully selected materials, 110 individual pieces and requiring 106 production steps before being presented to the consumer. The result is a pair of boots that not only offers straight out of the box comfort, but is destined to perform for many years of trekking adventures. Thanks to the cemented construction, the boots can be easily resoled again and again to further extend their lifespan.
