The new Scarpa Mescalito blends the comfort, support and protection of a mountain boot with the sensitivity and weight of an approach shoe.
New for 2017, the Boreal Flyers Vent is a very lightweight and climbing orientated approach shoe with a highly breathable textile upper. It might just be the perfect footwear for your next summer climbing trip.
Flyers Vent has a slightly closer fit than regular Boreal approach shoes with an extended rock-shoe-like lace closure for a really precise fit and great control. The upper is made from a synthetic textile which is very lightweight and extremely breathable with excellent stay-cool comfort in warmer weather.
The outsole of Flyers Vent is made from Zenith Dura which is a special hard wearing version of a famous rock shoe rubber and offers brilliant grip on rock surfaces whilst retaining good durability.
Unlike lesser approach shoes Flyers Vent has a board lasted construction with a full length midsole for excellent underfoot support on rough ground. The bulk of the underfoot cushioning is placed above the midsole with the rubber outsole mounted underneath. This construction massively reduces the amount of edge deflection around the foot, a huge advantage when climbing.
UPPERS: Stitch free Nylon upper for excellent breathability. Protective rubber rand.
LINING: PU Air Net for ventilation and comfort
MIDSOLE: Boreal PXF with shock absorbing EVA layer for comfort
SOLE: Boreal Approach rubber outsole with Zenith Dura approach formula for superior friction. PU rand
USAGE: Technical approach and easy climbs. Paths, trails and off-road. Street use
