Marmot is a supplier of the finest technical outdoor clothing and equipment with a distribution in nearly 60 countries worldwide. To support our ambitious UK plans, we are looking to recruit a new Sales and Training Representative to help develop our business in the UK and Ireland.
Marmot UK is the first branch of Marmot's European subsidiary company, and is responsible for the second largest territory in Europe, and has one of the strongest market opportunities. The Brand has achieved consistent long term UK growth and market penetration, with a well established distribution through major outdoor chains, outdoor speciality retailers, web dealers, and in May through our first UK flagship store in Westfield Stratford City, London.
The right person for this role will already be established in the outdoor industry with an excellent reputation, and will show a successful track record of sales, effective training, organising events and developing strong relationships. They will understand the technical outdoor market and have an excellent grasp of the brands within it and their market positions.
They will be an enthusiastic, active mountain sport participant with regular experience of some of the following: Climbing, mountaineering, snow sports, adventure racing, mountain marathons, mountain biking etc. They will be passionate about technical outdoor clothing and equipment, and able to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of real world use, construction and technology.
They will be an effective communicator, well organised and self motivating. They will be used to working to targets, keeping accurate records and regular reporting. They will be comfortable working flexibly within a small team. They will be computer literate and hold a full, ideally clean, driving licence.
Our showroom and office is based in Milnthorpe, Cumbria on the fringe of the English Lake District, but the role is countrywide and therefore we are flexible on location. The position will start immediately and key responsibilities will be; pre-season sales presentations, managing relationships and ongoing business with existing accounts, developing new business opportunities, delivering year round store training, organising and participating in on-hill and other staff training events in cooperation with our sponsored athletes.
