Tajikistan is a country difficult not to fall in love with. Join us on this expedition as we trek over high passes and past stunning alpine likes in the Fann Mountains. For those with climbing experience, this trip also includes ascents of Energia (5120m) and Chimtarga (5489m), the latter of which is the highest peak in the range. Climb Mingli Sar (6050m), Karakorum, Pakistan

Dates: 19th August – 3rd September 2018

Price: £2199

Pre-requisites: Trekking experience to circa 4500m. No technical alpine experience required.

Starting at the base of the legendary Hunza Valley, on this trip we travel deep into the Karakorum spending time in the town of Karimabad before taking in the Hussain Suspension Bridge and taking an exhilarating drive along the Karakorum Highway and into the Shimshal Valley. From the village of Shimshal we spend 10 days trekking to Shimshal Pass and making a summit attempt at Mingli Sar, one of very few non-technical 6000m peaks. Summit day does include some limited glacier travel and participants will be briefed in the use of crampons and ice axes beforehand. This is a truly remarkable trek taking in some of the most remote settlements in the world; the Shimshali people spend 5 months of the year living in the pastures below Mingli Sar tending their yak without any connection to the outside world.

Price includes local mountain guides, expedition medic, porters and chefs, all transport and accommodation, all trekking meals and breakfasts throughout the trip.
