Montane X BMC Range Gear News

The British outdoor clothing specialist, Montane, has launched a complete capsule collection in partnership with the British Mountaineering Council (BMC), donating 5% of all UK sales to the Moors For The Future project helping to support the restoration of peat bogs in England.

This new range takes inspiration from the relaxed, no-nonsense lifestyle of climbers, combined with Montane's unrivalled quality; delivering a curated collection of mountain-ready garments. The collection is a result of Montane's longstanding partnership with the BMC and their shared passion for preserving the outdoors, with 5% of the UK profit being dedicated to the BMC's 'The Climate Project' which helps to recover the English moors.

The Spring/Summer 2020 collection, in conjunction with the BMC, sees Montane's design team develop a relaxed feel to the range, opting for paired back summer styles with muted colour palette. From DRI RELEASE® cotton to THERMOLITE, the new products feature a wide range of technical high-quality lightweight fabrics allowing for fast-paced activities in comfort all day at the crag.

With both organisations sharing their love and respect for the great outdoors, Montane has pledged to donate 5% of all the UK sales from this collaborative collection to BMC's charity 'The Climate Project' supporting the 'Moors for Future' initiative in restoring the English peat bogs. Montane and BMC have been working closely for two years on stand-alone products, with the latest project being the first-ever full capsule range.

The Global Marketing manager, Matthew Hickman, commented: "We are delighted about this exciting collaboration with such a prestigious and well-respected organisation as the BMC. At Montane, we have great respect for all the hard work that the BMC does to help protect and promote the interests of our climbing, hill walking and mountaineering customers.

"This clothing range is not just about the high-quality mountain-ready garments, it also allows our customers to join our efforts in tackling climate change as 5% of every item sold will be donated to 'The Climate Project' by BMC. The environmental crisis imposes a great threat to the outdoors

and we are taking the necessary steps to strengthen our sustainability efforts. Following the launch of our 'Further. Forever.' concept, and recently joining the Fairwear Foundation, the BMC range is another way for Montane to help protect our environment and the great British outdoors."

The BMC Marketing manager, Alex Messenger, added: "Our partnership with Montane is built upon our shared core values for protecting the outdoors and creating a sense of community amongst the climbers, hill walkers and mountaineers. Our members care strongly about the environment and having Montane donating 5% of the sales from this collection to our 'The Climate Project' charity is yet another reason why we decided to work with Montane.

The money raised will go to the 'Moors For The Future' initiative, protecting and promoting the benefits of moorland in the UK. The British peat bogs have huge storages of carbon and this project works on preventing the release of the locked-up carbon into the environment, as well as restoring peatlands to store even more carbon and reduce our carbon footprint."

The Montane X BMC collection, encompassing t-shirts, hoodies, shorts, pants, caps and bags, is available via Montane's website (www.montane.com).
