Quality Control Inspector
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to advance their career as a QC Inspector based in our CNC Department. The ideal candidate must be experienced and will understand engineering drawings and 3D models. Must be fully conversant with engineering inspecting equipment such as micrometer, vernier, dial test indicators and CMM and preferably have experience with components produced on CNC machines.

The successful candidate must have either have 5 years’ experience in maching or metrology and/or a HNC in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, and computer literate. It is essential that you are self-motivated with a positive and proactive approach, with the ability of problem solving and working under pressure.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process inspection as required to adhere to specifications and procedures in the job
  • Assist with the training of employees to increase their abilities to ensure quality components are produced at all times
  • Work with the Quality Manager to help problem solve and work on prevention methods as needed
  • Conduct and write up corrective actions as needed
  • Conduct final inspection of finished products to confirm all operations have been completed to job and customer specification
  • Make recommendations for future production runs
  • Work with the Line Manager to maintain and enhance batch control, lot traceability and employee accountability
  • Investigate any quality issues to determine the root cause and communicate the root cause back to Line managers and appropriate floor personnel
  • Maintain various inspection fixtures, gauges, and measuring devices so appropriate measurements are made


Essential to your success in the role will be the ability to demonstrate:

  • Ability to understand engineering drawings
  • Use of various metrological & electronic measuring equipment (gauges, micrometers, verniers, an advantage to use Faro arm, etc)
  • Computer literate, Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Good attention to detail producing consistently high quality work
  • Five years’ experience in machining or metrology and/or a HNC in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team


Desirable

  • An active interest in climbing and/or outdoor pursuits

Hours
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
