As it enters its third year of trading this month, British technical apparel company Jöttnar has expanded its clothing supply arrangements with UK Mountain Rescue Teams to include Cockermouth, Keswick, Penrith, the Royal Air Force Search and Rescue Force and the Scottish Search and Rescue Dog Association (SARDA). These new partnerships will sit alongside Fort William-based Lochaber MRT, the UK’s busiest team, who Jöttnar first supplied in 2013.
Co-founder, Tommy Kelly, said, “It’s a privilege for us to supply some of the UK’s largest and busiest mountain rescue teams. With some of them approaching a hundred call-outs a year, their gear takes a hammering and so it’s a genuine honour, as well as a responsibility that we take very seriously, that they’ve chosen to place their trust in us. Having supplied Lochaber for over two years now, their feedback has been invaluable in helping us improve each item year on year and we look forward to replicating this with all of our new teams.”
Jöttnar is poised to launch its Winter ’15 range this month, which sees four new products joining its line-up. All existing items are being carried forward and will incorporate new colourways and performance updates. The new products include:
- a bibless version of the acclaimed Vanir salopettes
- a lightweight NeoShell® jacket aimed at summer Alpine use
- a general-purpose Schoeller® softshell mountain trouser
- a women’s version of the existing Fenrir hydrophobic micro-down jacket
Jöttnar will continue to sell direct through its website and is also set to expand its existing stable of independent specialist retailers.
