  • CNC Manager
  • CNC Programmer & Setter


CNC Manager

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Manager within a CNC Machining Environment with strong Leadership skills in terms of change management, process improvement, people management and manufacturing engineering to join a well-established growing business.

The ideal candidate will be hands on, numerate, analytical and highly results driven – focusing their work on utilising the key practices to drive improved performance. This is a leadership position and as such requires a skilled and professional individual who leads by example.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To lead the CNC team in Performance Management, mentoring and developing the team’s training needs. Managing attendance, monitoring staff levels and motivating the team.
  • Day to day running of the CNC Department, ensuring work is planned for all shifts
  • Programming and setting of CNC Machines
  • Maintaining and improving productivity and efficiency within agreed budget
  • Continual manufacturing improvements in cycle times and efficiency
  • Reading technical drawings, BOM's and material specifications
  • Leading by example and following the core values and principles of the Company


Essential skills:

  • Proven track record of at least 2 years experience in a man management environment
  • 5 years experience of a CNC machine shop environment
  • Experience of modern CNC/milling engineering shop environment and modern manufacturing techniques
  • Confident and influential communicator at subordinate, peer and management level
  • Excellent managerial, operational and organisational skills
  • A robust individual who thrives on pressure and tough challenges
  • Dynamic and forward thinking individual
  • ONC/HND/Degree or in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent


CNC Programmer & Setter

This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional and experienced programmer who is dedicated to providing above and beyond engineering capabilities and problem solving. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated team player and part of a small but busy department, with excellent communication skills and a positive, proactive approach.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to write programs suitable for controlled systems such as ISO, Mazatrol, Heidenhain.
  • Setting 3-Axis CNC Machines with an independent 4th axis Rotary Table
  • To change Cutters and alter Tooling Offsets
  • To use precision instruments like micrometers, Vernier Callipers, Tool Pre-setters and a range of Gauges i.e. Slips, Plug and Thread gauges
  • Understanding the properties of Materials and metal cutting theories


Essential skills:

  • Proven track record of 5 years experience in a CNC machine shop
  • Experience of modern CNC/milling engineering shop environment and modern manufacturing techniques
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Work to a very high degree of accuracy at all times
  • Ability to deal with challenges/problems and new products on a regular basis
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Must be a team player
