Although Kayland aren't perhaps as well known in the UK as some other Italian footwear brands, they have a range of products that compete on every level with the likes of Scarpa and La Sportiva.
Kayland are based in Montebelluna, an area that has a strong heritage and history of mountain footwear manufacture. Their current range includes everything from 6000 metre boots to lightweight trail shoes, and everything in between. All Kayland footwear is manufactured in Europe. Here are a few highlights from the 2017 range.
6001 GTX Boot
The 6001 GTX is a really impressive boot. Built to the highest standards and featuring a Gore-Tex lining on both the gaiter and the inner boot. Having the Gore-Tex membrane in the gaiter is really advantageous as it provides a first line of defense against moisture and protects against the uppers from becoming saturated. Apex Plus GTX
The Apex Plus is a lightweight, super technical mountain boot. The precision fit, high gaiter and low profile insulation make the Apex Plus perfect for technical alpine climbing. Apex GTX
The Apex GTX is a B2 boot designed for classic mountaintaineering and easier alpine routes. It's also potentially a great option for anyone operating in the lower Scottish winter grandes. Kayland's take on the classic leather hill / mountain walking boot. The Globo is available in both a men's and women's fit and has a 2.5mm nubuck leather for durability and weather resistance. The Globo is a perfect choice for anyone wanting a tradtional leather book for mountain walking and backpacking.

New for 2017, the Gravity is a fusion of lightweight comfort and technical performance. Available both with or without a Gore-Tex lining, the Gravity has a unique Vibram sole unit that features two different types of rubber for grip on rock combined with all terrain traction.
