The wheels also mean it glides smoothly, rather than being carried awkwardly. Taped seams and a cold PU treatment means that it's pretty much waterproof, even at cold temperatures.

The peak of the osprey range for 2018, the Levity has one of the most impressive volume-to-weight ratios of any pack we've ever seen. By cutting out absolutely everything unnecessary, and using lightweight materials throughout, Osprey have managed to produce a full spec backpacking pack with superb levels of comfort and ventilation but that weighs in at only 810g (45 litres) or 850g (60 litres). The weight - or rather, lack of it - has to be felt to be believed. At this price the Levity will appeal only to the serious ultralight enthusiast, but it's quite some achievement by Osprey and a worthy winner of an Outdoor Award for weight and materials and degree of innovation

Multi-function pack with axe and walking pole attachment. Super light weight. Lite Air back system with great stability and breathability.
Pretty interesting. I enjoy watching these reports, but as with tech there seems to be a headlong rush for innovation, sometimes at the expense of doing simple things well.
I wonder if the man from crux really means high molecular weight polyethylene rather than high density polyethylene? One is dyneema/spectra and the other is plastic milk bottles.
This is a poly bag with a zip in it on wheels - for £350 - £380. It is quite possible to get return flights to Alpine ice with a nice hotel B&B including pizza and chips every night and going on the lash to celebrate when you get back for less than the price of this bag. You would have to cope with the shame of course of traveling with a clunky old black suitcase. Still the climbing and the hangover would make up for it.
