1. Christmas Crack (HS 4a) HS 4a (Stanage) 3 Stars

The most popular choice of all, with 4,217 ascents in the UKC logbooks...and more to come in the next few days, no doubt. Bring a jacket for the queue and your best Santa suit!

Rockfax Description

This long straight crack is a must; mild for the grade, but sustained. Climb a V-groove to the crack and follow it with pleasure. The final leaning corner is awkward and there is also an exposed alternative out left. The only route in the Peak where you will be queuing every 25th December come hail or shine! © Rockfax

The slippery twin cracks in the groove - the holly has long gone. Start up the left one, step into the right for a couple of steep moves, then finish up a wide easy chimney. © Rockfax

Might nip out to Stanage if the weather is nice but definitely won't be queuing to get on routes with 'Christmas' in the name.
