Overview

Mendip Basecamp is a campsitein the heart of the Mendip Hills National Landscape.  Booking is available online at https://mendipbasecamp.com/ There is an off-grid campsite - i.e. no electric hook up- available for tents and camper vans under 2.7m meters high. No caravans or motorhomes due to access restrictions.   

CLIMBING NEARBY

There are loads of climbing crags nearby for new and experienced climbers. The campsite is only a few hundred-metre walk to Sandford Quarry, 10  mins drive to Cheddar Gorge and Goblin Combe, 20 mins drive to Brean Down and 30 mins drive to Avon Gorge.

There are footpaths and bridleways accessed straight from the site for walking and mountain biking; or, you can discover ancient woodlands and enjoy an open fire. Plus, with an outdoor activity centre only a short walk through the woods you can try out new activities such as caving, skiing, tobogganing, frisbee golf, archery, rifle shooting and axe throwing!
