Overview

Ben Lairig is the University of York's mountaineering club! We are a friendly bunch of students who love climbing mountains, from a simple hike or exposed scramble, to winter mountaineering or ice climbing! We run weekend trips every fortnight all over the UK, mostly in Snowdonia, the Lake District and Scotland and also recently went to the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco.

Our club is open to anyone who wants to get involved, no prior knowledge or experience is required to join. Our members range from being completely new to mountainous terrain to having several Scottish Winter and Alpine seasons under their belt. No matter what your level, there is heaps to get involved in. We have both experienced members and training events with instructors so you can learn to skills to get outside and have adventures in the hills whilst staying safe.

For more information, visit our website: http://benlairig.co.uk

Outdoor Society are the University's rambling group who offer day walks of a more easy-going nature. Find them here: www.outdoorsoc.co.uk/
