Overview

Phasels Climbing Complex is a spectacular outside climbing structure of 14 faces with the real crag feel. Individual climbers or groups can use the wall with their own climbing equipment. Phasels Wood has equipment which can be hired hourly by Scouts, Guides youth groups and schools. When using Phasels equipment two instructors are required for a group of no more than 18 per session. Two additional adults from your group are needed to help with harnesses and to supervise the children not engaged on the activity. If providing your own instructors, they must have the appropriate authorisation. This tower is approved for use by Girlguiding UK and GG Level 1 instructors are available. The wall is a challenge to both beginners and experienced climbers. The total climbing surface is 440sq meters including a 36 metre girdle traverse. No booking is required if you have your own equipment.

A regular user off this wall, it's well worth a visit. A suprising number of routes at varying difficulty. And it's very refreshing to climb outdoors without having to travel for hours.

I went last night and had a great time. It's surprisingly hard climbing given the Scouts connection and the leading is a bit thin (the bolts are often after the hard bit and the 1st ones always pretty high). Good to be outside as well.
