up to 8m toprope walls, curved resin with bolt-ons, slab, vertical and overhanging sections. Curved resin bouldering wall. All by Livingstone, built 1995. 150 sq m of wall surface. Showers. [BMC 1/97]
Yes, a truly GRIM place.
There are far better walls out there. Beacon Centre is nice. If living in Bangor, find someone with a car, share petrol and head for the Beacon. Maes Glas really has nothing going for it. You can't get a good cup of tea, and it even smells bad!
Oh god how I miss this wall!!! After so long moaning about it at the time. :o) No good for routes - you'd find it more productive to make a cheese and pickle sandwich. But bouldering is sweet. The wall is all moulded, about 10 metres long and 4 high (? v. poor at estimates). Just about as close to real rock as I've ever seen (it's biggest plus). The set bouldering routes are pants in that they are unclear/unmarked, unlisted, unchanging etc. But if you find someone to show you then they are technically beautiful. :o) Loads of opportunities for dynos. Difficulties range from 4a to 7c but the lovely thing about the place is it's versatility. You could create any routes you wanted. I miss my wall. :o( Great for rainy days stuck in Bangor with no car. luv Curly p.s. he's kinda cute huh? (see below)

Good bouldering, very steep. No bolt-ons and heavily featured. Not huge, but there's enough to go at. Best simulated rock wall I've seen.
