Overview
20 top ropes, leading on 5 routes, courses, kit hire. Ideal for climbers of all abilities. Wide range of grades from F3 to F7b. Great for groups. Built by Entreprises and newly opened in September 02. Re-routed recently with some quality climbs.Junior climbing club every Saturday & Sunday 9.30am-11.30am, costs £6 which includes instruction and equipment. A single room without character. Probably is a good little practise room for locals but don't plan for a days climbing.

went to visit the wall, but no one seemed to know if you could solo climb on the self belay. so i think this is a 2 person wall only

have been to see if it was possible to use the wall as a solo climber, but no one seemed to really know anything about using the wall. So can you use the wall or do you need a second. id like to use the wall instead of traveling to sheffield. but no one seems to know what is going on.

Thankyou for your comments about the equipment hire and we have changed the procedures for this. Items can be hired individually for a small fee along with a £5.00 returnable deposit. We hope this will improve your visit to The Ridge and please feel free to pass on further comments. Kraig.

The Ridge is excellent for the beginner and the courses are very useful. But BEWARE, unlike other walls, The Ridge, gear hire is fixed, so it is a fiver whether you want to hire full kit or a karabiner! Other than that, good wall for local climbers who cant be bothered to travel to Sheffield to the bigger walls.
