Rockfax Description
The fierce thin crack is ultimately unsatisfying. Hard if done direct and a cop-out if not. Keep left for the best hidden holds. © Rockfax

I found this really strenuous. Burly climbing is really not my strength!

TomatoPro 29/Apr/17 TR O/S

Pumpy, sustained and powerful, on good holds. Crux at the top above sparse gear. Not sure I'd be able to place any on lead.

Part of crack masterclass, so was sticking to crack and avoiding arete which made it bloody hard.

Didn't read the guide and followed the obvious line which turns out to be the cop-out! So I'll put DNF!

Looks good but climbs crap. If routes are eliminate perhaps it would be handy if the guidebook told you what to eliminate. (I've checked three now and still don't know) are the holds out left cheating, perhaps one or both of the aretes are out, or possibly the ledge out left.

Wasn't brave enough to use the rattley hold before I'd got gear in the crack. Not enough left in the tank to make the pull after placing the gear from poor holds.

E1 5c felt right using the holds on the left wall (although the biggest is very loose so not that one!). Without them would be desperate, and a ridulous eliminate.

Hands were so cold ended up holding on for ages trying to warm them up. Getting more pumped decide layback on cold hands wasn't option so threw one on for the top! Followed by seal slump top out due to pump!
