Rockfax Description
A mean fish which is steeper than first appearances might suggest. It tackles the first big crack-line on the wall and never lets up. Safe, pumpy and excellent. © Rockfax

Clean on second attempt. Fell (flopped) at the twin cracks crux first go and dogged my way to the top, obviously in over my head. Struggled my way up ocean boulevard on second then found myself at the bottom of this again. It felt alright second time, the crux was still hard but I rested well on jams. First E4.

Great route. Very safe. Tough moves but there are some rests if you can jam well

A good route to experience your first falls on gear!

The bulge is soooo steep thought there was no way I could do the route, but kept going and it does ease. Once in the fault found the rest and it was in the bag. So happy as its terrifyingly steep from below

First attempt at an e4. Very greasy rock made the start feel a bit 'out there'. Was beginning to celebrate, when i came off holding a lump of rock, proper big fall because the last gear was very extended bellow the little roof. !!

Attempted to lead, ran out gas at about 40'. Lessons: don't jump on E4s without properly warming up, don't try hard routes that are your anti-style, and don't try to combine family and climbing weekends.

Really really good, and a lot easier than Warlord. Second dog previously with Purple Sue on 04 Oct 09. Cool coincidence with the dates.

Apprehensive about getting on this, as I've neglected climbing a bit and become massively unfit. I was right to worry - I was maximally pumped on this for a long time. Couldn't pull back the cams to place them, so i hung on jams yelling about it and somehow pulled through! Very pleased to get up it. Though Ross had to go and find two hands-free rests in the pumpy bit... Lovely climb. Shame it gets a bit rubbish toward the top.

Very nice and not too pumpy if you find the rests :)
