First TD route! After a long struggle on the scree we managed to find the start of the route - a bit of orange tat on a bolt about 15m up. Make sure you don't go too far up the scree/snow slope. We had actually intended to do the slightly easier route next to this but we were running out of time so opted for the harder of the two. Three 6a pitches were certainly a test, and the final pitch (6a) took me a while but was a great test of crimpy, slabby, and overhanging climbing. We celebrated for a couple of minutes before 4 very hurried abseils of the top down towards the lift. Managed to run (read fall/ski/tumble) down the scree and snow to get the chairlift down with the operators. A fantastic, if tiring day!

We started the day in the Torino Hut!!! After the previous days altitude sickness I decided it was best to get down low. So we dropped into Chamonix and then back up on the Flegere lift. So we had a late start. We managed the coulior to the base of the route without axes or crampons, despite the snow, we did the route in good time but decided we had to finish up the Index Arete from the large ledge to make the bin. thaw abseils later down the side of the descent couloir we missed the lift. A bum slide was fun, but the walk down to Cham, not so much.

Bailed due to injury when Mark tore the meniscus in his knee on pitch 3. Heroic effort climbing on to the belay! Great climbing until then.

Quality atmospheric climbing in an excellent position. The harder pitches are a little soft for 6a, and the route is very well bolted. My first Alpine route in Chamonix.
