A lot of trudging along forestry roads. Followed Red Path (mistake) until eventually coming to a gate leading to Castle Hill. Then went to McCartney's cave before ascending steeply to two cairns and then crossed moorland to a substantial cairn. Continued across moorland passing some wild ponies to base of hill. Then steep incline to summit with some very low grade scrambling in a couple of places. Weather turned nasty at top, so headed off the hill to the southeast via a forest path to a forestry road to public road... a long trudge back to car. The official walking trails are very poorly thought out. ??/2015 - ??/2015 -
