From the spout of The Drainpipe head out right to the blunt arete and climb it to a deep horizontal break (gear). From here make an airy exit up the final section on sloping holds. © Rockfax

βeta: Cleaned and brushed but still a bit scrittly in places. Hat off to Arthur Birtwistle in 1938! Respect!! It has to be said though, the lower arete is a complete sandbag @ VS!. Climbed a direct start on the front of the arete. Steep pulls to good holds and a wire in the crack of Welcome to Greenfield, before stepping up and left to grasp a surprising horn on the arete. Good E2 (Possible to place cams on the left wall standing on blocks in the gully @ E1). The airy top arete has 2 microcams on the left wall. Hope that's not provided too much beta? with Debbie Whittaker | βeta? | |
