UKC

40m, 2 pitches. Beacon Rib is bounded on its left by a dirty gully, left of which lies a broad 25m rock wall. The normal descent route for the main crag passes beneath this wall. A pleasant route up the prominent fault-line corner in the right-hand side of this wall – a useful addition to routes of that grade on the crag. Surprisingly clean and with good protection. Start at a large rock ramp that runs up rightwards to the foot of the corner.
1 25m. Ramble up the ramp to the foot of the left-facing corner or, slightly harder, gain it direct. Climb straight up the corner to a large terrace and oak tree belay on arrival.
2 15m. The buttress behind the belay is split by a curving, right-to-left crack. Pull up to gain the right-hand end of the crack and follow it to where it widens to a slot. Gain a standing position on the edge of this and finish either leftwards up blocks, or by traversing rightwards onto the front. Tree belay above.
