3rd trip trying this one! retro flashed up to the gauntlet of pain but couldn't figure out the head-wall. 2nd attempt dropped the ice-cream cone tufa, then got it 3rd try with much relief.

Tried on 3 separate days totalling about 7 tries, got closest on the last day of the holiday but there was too much pressure! got to the crux clean then just couldn't latch the tufa jug, had a 5 second rest on the rope and took it to the top. No time for another attempt or we would have missed the ferry >.<

a pretty stiff crux on this and its no pushover getting established above the bulge

ksjs 02/Sep/08 Lead RP

led with 3rd bolt pre-clipped (a difficult clip and risky if you fluff it). crimping on broccoli rock going through the bulge with a bit of sweat on your fingers felt tough. the local guide shows belay below the upper cave - it isnt, its out of view (as youre climbing) at LHS of upper cave.
