Rockfax Description
Classic! The deep rift is approached via wide bridging to reach a scratched slab. From the small ledge above the left end of this slab, mantel into the chimney and follow it throughout. The exit is tricky. Originally split at a belay on the small ledge. © Rockfax

βeta: The line on the topo in the BMC Over the Moors guide is wrong. After the top of the layback section you need to mantle out left to join the line of the chimney earlier.

smoreda 22 Jun Lead Fantastic. Definitely 3 stars for me. The mantel onto and over the second slab is intimidating and out there to lead onsight at the grade. Then you notice FA 1903 (!!??)

buxtoncoffeelover 22 Jun Lead Tricky moves off the ground, & an awkward delicate move left after the slab. Burly pull-up/mantel into the chimney & easy bridging to finish. Great fun

mrphilipoldham 1 Apr Lead O/S The glassy starting foothold makes this nigh on impossible at 4b. Contrived some 5a sequence to bypass it. Nice layback moves up to the first big ledge but then going striaght up via the line in OtM (Ensemble Exit line?) is again significantly harder than 4b. I followed the historic polish (and presumably original line) out to join the left hand above the slab on the smaller ledge at about 4b.. then up in to the upper chimney no problem. Maybe time for a re-grade? Good adventuring if sandbaggy and undefined.

Graeme Hammond 21 Jun, 2014 Lead O/S followed the line as per the over the moors guide, still a bit confused if this is actually correct, from the big ledge I bridged up the reached left to the small ledge, were as other guides show it going left into the left hand version!
