Rockfax Description
A varied and testing hybrid which is both delicate and strenuous. Start right of Fly on the Wall at the base of the slabby front face.
1) 5a, 16m. Climb the thin weakness 4m right of the slabby arete to the overhangs. Move left under the overhangs to the arete and move awkwardly around it. Move steeply up and back right above the overhang and belay immediately below an overhanging corner.
2) 5a, 15m. Climb the overhanging corner and at its steepest point use good holds on the left arete to gain easier ground above that leads to the top. © Rockfax

P1, A technical slab and an awkward traverse under the overhang. Good climbing

Lead the first pitch.Pleased to be in good mindset well above gear. Pete flowed elegantly(his words):) up the 2nd pitch with gratuitous kneebar/handsfree showoff move on loopy ropes and his usual solid nuts in the ohang, placed while cutting loose and shouting" look at me ".Think this is a bit below his grade:)

clubmanpete 13/Mar/16 AltLd O/S

Started with the idea of Geoff leading both pitches.. once completing the first pitch and learning Geoff had an injured finger... was Tim to step up myself and lead second pitch.. second pitch though exposed is easier than it looks... first pitch for sure is more the trouser filler... when moving your right leg round onto the slab..beware... smearing on it is tough as it's very slipping... slow and balance required here.. a great mini adventure and worthy of its grade for sure

Lead p1, had a fall. Comitting around the corner. Pete lead p2 well climbed. What a start to thr season!

Led P1. Good slab climbing with a slightly awkward move left to the short wall before the belay stance. Well protected where it matters. P2 also good value for money.

Followed P1. I found this hard and awkward, and would have struggled to lead it. Took a big fall leading P2. Mis-read the sequence and powered on through above gear to reach the good hold, but was all out of balance. Fell all the way back to the belay ledge - nice one! Had to have another rest on the 2nd attempt, before sorting myself out and doing it on the 3rd go. Despite my difficulties, this is a great, and varied climb, though I think it's hard for the grade.

Led P1, Stephen led P2. P1 does not have any gear until at the overhang but then has loads, nice move round left and then back right above the overhang. P2 steep to start with but much easier above the overhang.

led both pitches.Pitch one feels bold but there is gear if you search around. Good footwork helps. P2 has less finesse. Great climb with loads of variety.
