Rockfax Description
12m. A good route, though not the stroll in the park the name suggests. Climb the thin crack and the groove above, at its top move right to a small cave. The pullover from here is taxing. © Rockfax

top outs a bit of a laugh!

Green at the top, foot slipped but landed on my knee and stuck it! Good lead from Scott.

Varied climbing! Dyno, finger crack, bulges, sloped top out! Top out is not strenuous but takes a bit of care. 5b? (5c dyno for the short) Would like to come back and lead.

Scrittly topout was a little off putting. Probably my favourite route of the day. :)

Excellent route. The top, crux, move is all in your feet. But you cant see what your doing. Safe

very good gear, but helpful to kow what the gear 'could' be. Very clean. One of those top moves that suit or not but even if not i.e. me, still doable.

David_Gledson 20/May/15 Lead β

Absolutely bloody awesome!! Fantastic experience. Really safe, and really not too hard. Gear is wires up to a 5, gold camalot and a number 6 hex in the best placement ever.

Woo hoo! Finally smashed it on my third attempt what an amazing line. Getting into the bridged position at the top is so out there!

The top move felt really awkward. Hade a few goes but kept down climbing. Then when I was boxed I sat on the top cam for a couple of minutes. Didn't think I could do then instantly sussed out the move. It was easy really. Ha!

Climbster 15/Mar/14 2nd dog

Needed 3 goes at the top move :(

Didn't work out the final move quick enough so needed to sit on the rope once then cracked it, will be back for the clean ascent(which could be tricky as the tops fecking filthy!)

Wonderful route! Great climbing from first move to last. Steep but never desperate until a hard finish. Crazy top out moves above gear. As the guide book says, a classic!

Great route, fantastic moves on suprise big holds. Claiming the OS but climbed the route whilst it rained and then found the topout totally untenable when wet, lowered off and waited for the rain to clear then yoyo-ed back to the top and the top-out, pragmatic more than puritan I guess. Might have to go back and lead in a one-er sometime though.

More like an aid ascent once I realised a nut required cutting free. Physical crux is surely shared with the HVS!

One of the best experiences I have ever had on grit! Fantastic moves out through the tufaesque flutings. A bit like black hawk bastion at Stanage but even better. Go climb it!
