17m.

Rockfax Description
14m. A fine long pitch. Start up Long Chimney Direct but continue up the slab and steepening crack to a ledge and rest. Step out left onto the exposed arete for a good finish. © Rockfax

williap 21 Sep, 2014 Lead dnf Finished up tombstone crack (from the ledge) after struggling to work out the moves onto the ledge and losing all psyche! Gutted to see it go so easy on second where I could see all the good holds, one to come back for.

hellorichie 28 Jun, 2010 2nd β As intimidating as my attempt on the lead. Gaining the shelf is the easy part (short arses crossover dont match tenuous but keeps the friction over ur right foot). Definately recommend a stiff shoe and small cams for the upper wall.

ollyroberts 28 Jun, 2010 Lead dog Didn't use the rib, on the first attempt and fall going to the top from chipped pocket. Hard for HVS without small gear, top section would be really bold. Used rib second go, still felt very bold.

ebf 23 Aug, 2009 Lead dog The moves up to the slab are good value for HVS/5a, but it's the top arete that is difficult; tenuous traverse to the arete, tiny gear and powerful moves to the top. Worth E1/5b IMO. Harder than most of the E2s I've done and therefore not fair on most VS/HVS leaders! Lovely climb despite that.

Will Smith 2 Jun, 2009 2nd dog Ass whipped. Should have gone for it first time up the crack to the slab. Hung around instead and got seriously pumped which made finishing even harder.

Si dH 10 Aug, 2008 2nd RP Got it properly on second after failing to lead. Found it very powerful getting round the bulge on to the ledge at the top of the crack and backed off. The top of the arete is also hard - difficult HVS.
