Dom Goodwin 19 Sep, 2019 Solo O/S A fascinating adventure - not entirely in a good way! Difficult to grade, but I’d say round about HVD. Loose, insecure, extremely spiky and quite serious. Only recommended to those happy to encounter more vegetation than rock. P1 seemed like V Diff climbing on slightly worrying rock. Loose earth on the holds adds to the feeling of insecurity. P2 is much more botanical in nature. Maybe it would be better to take the Arête on the right, but I wasn’t sure how hard it would be. Following the guidebook line into the corner involves battling through a load of exceptionally spiky bushes, which are very reluctant to relinquish any grip on you they can obtain - better without a backpack?!

steve_gibbs 17 Sep, 2017 Lead O/S Botanist's Dilemma gains the title of the worst route in Avon. Almost no gear, loose rock, plenty grass, and solid zero star climbing. Not recommended.

leland stamper 30 Jul, 2013 Solo O/S Bit damp and far too public. Met a policeman at the top who said he had a concern for public safety and what was my name because someone had been climbing up the rocks. I pointed out it wasn't illegal to climb here and he didn't need my name. He seemed OK with that. more exciting than the rock.

Paz 5 Jun, 2006 Lead O/S Pitch 2 still goes but is now bold and delicate, needs cleaning, and probably warrants HS. Certainly hard enough to put your rock boots on for. Making a possible first re ascent is an unconventional way to rescue another person!
