Rockfax Description
A similar experience to Blisterin' Barnacle. Start to the left of the slab's right arete.
Follow a bold line up the slab to meet a thin crack midway. Follow this to the crest and move left along the top of the slab to finish. © Rockfax

Lumbering Oaf 12 Jun, 2018 2nd dog I went to lead this climb chock-full of confidence after the previous two ascents (JDPH & BB) which went down without any problems and were very enjoyable. I was above my second piece of gear and was a little unnerved having realised that the sole of my left climbing shoe was wet (I hadn't noticed at the bottom). It's difficult to retreat when balancing on a couple of pockets on a slab with one wet toe: so, best (dry) foot forward. After climbing a little way up and placing a bomber third bit of gear I was about to clip it when, Whoop!, off I came and landed at the bottom in a standing position (with a few grazes). Nathan did a sterling effort on belaying and jumped back to take extra slack out of the system, so no broken ankle. After all this jarring excitement I thought I'd pass the lead on. I seconded and found the crux engaging and was cruising to the top but slipped on the dusty yellow rock-lichen just below the finish and loaded the rope. Bah! Mark it zero!
