jackob 14 Jan AltLd O/S Brilliant route but pretty bold in places. Wouldn't have wanted any less ice than we had!

Rank_Bajin 14 Jan AltLd Great route and worthy of 3 stars. Reasonable condition and ice improved with height. P1 was quite bold on poorly iced slabs with minimal protection to belay from small trees up and right of overhang at start of Pitch 2. P2 was a very steep pull over the icy overhang and up and step left over into the groove/gully. Then easy climbing with poor gear to ice screw belay. P3 Continues up the gully on steeper ice with reasonable ice screw protection. Insitu slings at belay. P4 easy climbing with a couple of steeper sections to ice screw belay. P5 short pitch to finishing bay with tree belay. 3 abseils to bottom. Abseil from tree in top bay to insitu slings at top of Pitch 3 then abseil from small trees at top of Pitch 1. Grade wise probably Scottish VI, 5 for the bold climbing low down.

EspenK 31 Dec, 2017 AltLd dnf With Mayeul. I led first pitch, horrifying with zero gear for first 10m or so. Almost fell off a couple times. Mayeul started 2nd pitch but came down from a slab. Lots of powder snow and rotten ice, too much ice for rock gear but not enough to use ice gear.

davewragg 31 Jan, 2016 AltLd Lower pitches thin and poorly protected. Icy from pitch 3 onward. Abseil descent. More M4 than WI4. Matt fell off the final ice pitch on lead.
