UKC

A thin crack runs up the middle of the main wall to the horizontal break. Go straight up this line to the wider left trending crack at the top. 2nd red arrow from the right. It is a fairly obvious line, steeper than it looks, big moves between good holds and just enough gear.

In Lancashire Rock this is recorded as "Thirlmere Wall", but had been climbed previously, so Lancashire Rock is wrong.

2005.

βeta: 5c, not 5b or 6a, and E2 seems fair... suggesting HVS is ridiculous. Enough gear, but it's quite steep for hanging around and some of the rock actually is dubious - perhaps more than is immediately obvious. It's hard to find the best holds immediately, but also big moves between the good holds. The best route at this otherwise dank, midge-filled quarry.
