Start midway between the fallen birch tree and Outspan, just right of a shelf at the base. Make bouldery moves past good incut hold to the second break. Move left along this, then up past a left-curving flake to large quartz recess. Pull out rightwards and direct up wall trending left to beneath the roof. Cross this at a prominent V-slot (jugs on lip), and continue easily up right edge of wall to gain the right end of the belay ledge on The Brute.
