Adders are frequently seen around Curbar. They are often very well camoflaged so it's worth keeping an eye out when moving into new areas, picking up kit etc as a bite, although not life threatening to most healthy adults can still be nasty.
Ticks are abundant due to a large population of red deer. take care, particularly if passing through bracken below the crag.

βeta: Amphitheatre Chimney is a worthwhile little route in its own right, but I would not recommend climbing it in this combination as one pitch. You really need your belayer up there with you to have any chance of protecting the leader as they back-and-foot up the flared chimney. If wanting to carry on upwards from Oblongata, surely it would in any case be a more natural line to continue up The Brain? This unhealthy suggestion should be scrapped. | βeta? | |
