3 pitches.

Rockfax Description
When viewed from the mainland, the long seaward edge of Hella Point is an irresistible line. The approach and the climb itself combine to provide a classic outing at the grade. Start on a small ledge below a slab at the base of the arete.
1) 4a, 17m. Climb the slab to a large ledge and belay.
2) 14m. Climb the chimney and move up over blocks to a good ledge and belay.
3) 4b, 12m. Boulder up the wall above the ledge and continue up a chimney to finish. Scramble off and reverse the approach back to the mainland. © Rockfax

UKC Logbook Description

Rob Seymour 27 Dec, 2018 Lead Better today than yesterday with blue sky and warm sunshine, what a fantastic route. Watched the falling tide for some minutes to make sure the sea-level ledge was clear. It was. Not a wave had come close. A bit surprising that the moment I stepped off I was hit by two waves breaking over my head. Even so, with the sea streaming out of my shirt and both boots full of water, squelching to the top of the route was immensely enjoyable.

jessieleong 9 Jul, 2017 Lead O/S This was the climb where timing was everything- we had little time before I had to catch a train in Penzance other than to commit to one M/pitch climb. After having a look at some neighbouring climbs, I changed my mind after looking at Helluva Slab ( which in the guidebook is only viewed from afar) as it looked far more enticing and had the coastal setting, which of course made it very exciting. We scrambled downwards to reach the start of the climb. The start had a bit of a bouldery step. I lead up first slab which the top felt a bit like 'an elephant's arse'- whilst Val opted to stay on the face and climb the crack.Found a lip to pull on to at the top and onto a mantleshelf. Val lead the second pitch which was a chimney, I did the final pitch which felt pretty sketchy in the sea mist. We saw Noelle and Sally, two other PC/ CC members in the distance! Finishing the climb, we went for a swim in the sea and had another cream tea in the cafe. Cornish Climbing experience in a nutshell!

The easily confused 'boulder bridge' is the area of black boulders. P3 has a nice boulder problem start but then turns into crappy scrambling over boulders covered in long-stranded lichen that prevents friction and breaks off to blow into your eyes! May be better to go left at the top of P2 and back to the approach. All in all al lovely outing!
