UKC

Two sections, the first 380m graded AD+ the second 100m graded TD. The via ferrata is mainly traversing and is very well equipped.

βeta: Did the main via Ferrata which was fine if a bit on the stiff side for the grade. Also the place they've put the wire will be a problem for anyone below 5ft 2. My wife found it to be a bit borderline at times - clearly installed by a tall guy. The ED extension is another matter. The lady in the tourist info told me it was very very difficult, I dismissed this as something a non climber would think. Turns out I was totally wrong. The extension is properly hardcore, much harder than the short 'qualifier' section would have you believe. After the first bit the entire thing is very overhung with minimal (sometimes no) feet stemples. It was an order of magnitude harder than any other VF I've done and frankly had I had a rope with me I would have abbed off halfway. Finished it with my arms grazed from hanging off the wire! Make sure you have a clip on the 'rest' bit of your lanyard, unless you are superman you will need it multiple times. If you're short, forget it - lots of places the wire is too far away. The wire rope bridge is particularly hilarious. Having now read the reviews on the French VF sites, I can see why so many people are helicoptered off it. Enjoy!
