100m. The initial steepening of the first buttress you meet is of rock climbing difficulty so walk 10m right and scramble up broken rocks or the grassy depression for 5m and traverse ledges back left to above the steep wall. Follow the rough slabs above for 20m, excellent holds, until you reach the second tier. Either climb up the wider mossy groove 5m left of the huge flake or take the slabby walls 5m to the right, both lead to easier angled slabs that lead almost directly to the summit.

For a quick descent back to Pen-y-Pass walk North West for around 100m then turn back South to pick up the track back down. If heading for Glyder Fawr then walk 3-400m North West from the summit to a stile over a fence, the rough and intermittent track that follows Glyder Fawr’s blunt South ridge starts just a little further West. It is also possible to walk roughly North East for a kilometre to reach The Miner’s Track between Pen-y-Gwryd and Glyder Fach.
