First route, trying to warm up a bit before tackling Brant's Little Brother. Unfortunately, the rain really set in whilst I was belaying, and we had to call it a day. This was a pleasant route - quite easy climbing and well protected, but a bit of an adventure nonetheless. The traverse right out of the groove feels quite exposed, there's a lot of loose rock around that needs care, and, looking at photos on here now, I can see that it's quite easy to make a meal of route finding and gear placements.... The top out is probably the hardest and scariest bit, as others have said - though it adds character. Fence posts are utterly knackered, suspended only by the wire, but I managed to get three fairly decent anchors elsewhere. Definitely deserves a star, I think, for its characterfulness. Maybe VDiff, except for the objective dangers that characterise the whole crag.

Getting more vegetated at top out than when I led it a few years back. Good lead Laura.

Nice climb but be aware of dodgy top out, steep grass slope, be prepared to grab clumps of grass to get up, not advisable if grass is wet. Not much at top for belay, some fence posts now unusable.

In the dark (with head torches) and with sacks to climb out from crag. Which made getting through the shrubbery fun...

Delightful climb but very little for belay at the top. Make sure your second won't fall off.

Possibly harder than the curlew calling route since we used the arete instead of the crack.
