300m, 7 pitches. The obvious and aesthetic gully on the NW face of Châtillon. The gully soon comes into view on the approach from Les Mosses - follow the obvious 4x4 track up to Lac Loison before contouring the lake and heading up to the gully. The bottom few pitches are snow only and can be skiied in good conditions (5.1, 40-50 degrees). Further up the gully becomes too steep (55-60 degrees) and narrow to ski, with some interesting mixed ground and ice possible. An extensive rack isn't needed owing to the poor quality of the rock either side of the gully - bolts protect the key moves. Fixed belays are in place at regular intervals - 50m ropes should be fine but 60s allow you to string the last two pitches together.

Descent: either ab the route (not preferable as it can be busy) or carry your skis up to the top and ski off the back (gentle skiing unless you decide to carry on to the summit, in which case there is a little exposure above cliffs).
