UKC

120m, 5 pitches. The big cascade can be climbed almost anywhere between WI 3+ and WI 5. The line of least resistance generally starts on the right and climbs diagonally upwards past several in situ rock belays (may be covered by ice) to the large ledge system at 2/3rds height. traverse this ledge system to the far left (be careful of teams on the direct line below) and continue up the left hand side of the upper cascade by the line of least resistance. Descent by absail off of trees on the left, or walk off to join footpaths in the woods to the right.

βeta: descent by absail with 2x 50m ropes is possible. there is an anchor on a big tree just above the big overhanging cliff band which gives a spectacular near 40m free hanging absail! a second 30m absail (third in total) off of a tree takes you down to the big ledges at the base of the cascade proper. a final 20m absail will take you down to the gear up spot at the start of the introductory pitch. in some conditions it can be easier to walk off from here.
