UKC

Follow the crest of the ridge from Gornergrat towards the summit of Stockhorn. There is a path beneath the ridge crest for some of the way, but this should be avoided. The ridge consists of blocky, loose rock which does not generally exceed a moderate scrambling difficulty. Sections of crevassed glacier and steep snow require care.

Note: While the path beneath the ridge certainly qualifies as a walk in good conditions, on the day my brother and I did it there was still a great deal of snow and we stuck to the ridge crest. In the UK, the line we took would certainly qualify as a challenging mountain scramble.
