AndyP 12 Jan, 2008 Lead O/S First Ascent. This is a short route and may well have been done before but it's not logged with the SMC. Clear sunny day. Poor snow conditions; 12-24 inches of powder with an unstable 2inch slab on top. Avalanche and cornice debris all over the southern sector. Catagory 3 avalanche warning but a party of 8 went up the Black Spout.
