Awesome first multi-pitch route for me. Long, steep, but beautiful approach that tired me way more than the climbing. Great climbing with old pitons on the ends of many pitches for easy anchoring - I found the chimney section slightly awkward with my bag at times and more difficult than the crux pitch that followed. Bit of a scramble at the top and decent ab point but nasty initial descent over the steep scree to get back down.

Went off route on pitch four, by not traversing left. Resulted in an interesting corner pitch that was pretty worth while. Nice day out.

Cha P1-4, Chris P5-8. Went off-route around P-4. We were using a photocopied route which guide had kindly translated for us. Somehow managed to miss the traverse right - I think we were too high. Anyway, I just made up a route which went straight up. Not too difficult, but we missed the chimney completely. Managed to get ab rope stuck on the way down. Tip - might be better to do it in 2 abseils rather than trying to reach the ground in 1. Ran down the hill and got to the bus stop 10 mins before the last bus back to Chamonix!

Swift 1.5 hour approach with a 1200m gain that fortunately keeps the crowds away.

Falling boulders caused hasty retreat, shame after 2 hour slog in hot sunshine. Great views, uninspiring climb, all looked very loose

recommended this route by cubby. not sure if we actually did the right route..... hard first pitch, had to use bolt for aid :-( then had a bit of a mission getting off, 4 scary abs!

Killer 1 1/2 hr walking, very pretty but very steep. Went of route and did a line that was more like French 6a/6b, still don't really know what we did. Spend a few hours simil climbing along a knife edge falling down ridge, I stood on a block about the size of a fridge freezer which fell off, managed to hold on myself tho. Missed the abb point and had to descended in 5 abbs off tiny spikes on minging broken ground. Got down about 8.30pm and finally got a hitch back to the camp site at 10.30pm, not quite the easy day we were looking for.

Topped out, then the area was hit by a strong earthquake, resulting in 10 mins of blind panic (we thought the pillar was falling down!!) and a hairy descent as the gully had been subject to a large rockfall. Proper day out!
