After backing off lower tier of unfrozen Central Buttress, nipped up this. Should have climbed in this vacinity in the first place, higher and blocky!

Unbelievable scenes! Great start via WSG and up on the crest in good time. Went off-route trying to outflank a very steep wall and ended up climbing something way harder anyway, losing a few hours in the process. Salvaged it, only to go off-route again at the top, ending up on the direct finish. A valiant effort by Andy ensued but in the bad weather and darkness the decision was made to bail - 3 long abs to the terrace followed by a traverse to and walk down Fuselage. Gutted! Bloody long day! http://www.mistymountainhop.net/2016/02/hit-and-miss-but-always-stunning-in-torridon/

Started up West Central Gully which was great. Went off track higher up and abbed back down to walk off via Fuselage Gully. Long day and suitably tired legs!

Started up West Central gully route (recommended for the cave belay). Proper hard route - hardest I've ever climbed in winter! With intro winter climber course. Stunning conditions all day, not a soul else in the corrie.

Big day out. Amazing! Brian ran out of gear on right hand variation at top. Too cold to have a shot. Finished up fuselage gully. Tore my trousers to shreds on airplane. What a place!

Very wintery coire and quartzite tier looked to be in perfect conditions, just a shame we never reached it! Rather optimistically we went for the West Central Gully start thinking even with no build up and it not being frozen it would still be okay. It really wasn't. After hours of sketching up poorly protected slushy slabs and a muddy chimney we got to the cave and decided to bail. Gutted! Still, a stunning day in the NW and great to be out.

Not as frozen as it looked from below! Backed off.

Just about wintery on Monday, but the sun was on the top tier as we finished.

Lovely, didn't look very wintery from the bottom but felt it whilst climbing. Stunning day.

West Central start was much harder than anticipated. Crux was the last pitch before the final tier - fantastic, but not tech 4 by any stretch. Horrific descent.

Skipped the sandstone tier. Some ambiguity about route-finding on middle tier, no ambiguity about quality of last pitch. Superb route.

Not really "full Scottish conditions" but a grand day out. Two ice pitches up the West/Central gully to get to the start of the quartzite tier, followed by some verglassed rock climbing and it finally became a bit more wintery for the upper tier.
