"The best crag in the area SE of Preston" according to David Jones's 1989 guide to climbing in England and Wales. Up to 120ft (35m) high with good routes in the Extreme grades.
However, note the access restrictions - this crag was closed for some time. Surrounded by trees, so can get green. "Fun for everyone, well worth a visit", said Jones.
To be opened in June/July 2001 (check BMC access notes) for the first time in some years - the owners have been against use because a falcon nests there. Not available after July because of game shooting.
Take the A675 from Preston, Under the M6, on for 2.9mi to the Boar's Head Pub, after which turn L. Continue for 0.6mi over a rail bridge, turn R to a track along the railway to a crossing. The crag is in the trees on the L.
Be sure to read any BMC access notes on this crag.
