Anchor Church © BigMac

Crag features

An interesting pebbly sandstone crag which has caves carved into it by an ancient hermit. Not the best rock. A new Leicestershire guidebook (though the crag is just in Derbyshire) is due out in 2010 so more information may be available. Unlikely to get busy.

Approach notes

None known

Can park in a small layby near Ingleby where the footpath leaves the road (signposted to Anchor Church). Path is not the easiest, quite muddy and lots of stinging nettles. Setting up top-ropes is a bit of a fight with the trees. Crag is worth a short visit, good fun.
