Crag features

This is a deep sided Basalt Barranco (ravine) in a lovely location. The routes are long and technical face climbs on good quality rock. Most climbs are in the high 6's to 8a range. One of the best crags on Gran Canaria.

It is too hot to climb here is summer and the walk will be dangerous after heavy rains because of the narrow path around the reservoir. The base the crags is fine.

Approach notes

From Maspalomas, follow the GC-503 towards Ayagaures. Pass Ayagaures and take the road on the left of the dam. Keep going for 1km until you reach the next dam, where the road finishes. Starting from the dam wall, follow the footpath on the left side of the water. After about 0.5km descend to the river and walk up stream for another 200m. Please note that the path around the reservoir is narrow in places and sometimes involves walking along wide, but round, water pipes.

Every few years gran canaria recieves severe rain. The path can be extremely dangerous after these rains until it's been repaired. When it is in good condition, the path is fine, if a little vertigo inducing. If a part of it look unreasonable, assume that it is and come back next time.
