Quarried compact Micra Schist that is largely used by the near-by outdoor centre, who have looked after and kept the crag clean and suitable for use over the years. Due to the compact nature of the rock most of the lines have been bolted. There is also a smaller bolted crag along the road before you reach the main crag “Nursery Crag” that has a number of fun little bolted problems, unfortunately it doesn’t get as much use and can become a little green.

Please park at the main Benmore Botanical gardens carpark just off the main road (A815) North of Dunoon. Best to park here before continuing on foot over the wooden bridge at the top end of the car park. Continue walking along the private road for 10 minutes until you meet a T Junction at which point you turn right towards Loch Eck and follow the small road for 5 ministers to the second of two crags on the left.
Please beaware this is predominately a group crag and an Instructional venue and may have ropes on all the lines during the day so the best time to visit is normally in the evening and or on weekends.
