Approach notes

This crag is hard to find, because it is hidden in the trees on the ridge above the village of Orphanges. None of the locals we asked in the village seemed to have a clue about it.

From the A75, exit at Issoire, and take the D996 and then the D26 west towards Saint Floret. In the centre of Saint Floret, take the D627 left, and head up the hill. Take a turning right about 1km out of Saint Floret towards Orphanges. Park anywhere you can in the village of Orphanges without blocking the road for agricultural vehicles and locals. Head east and up through the village until you come to watering troughs (limited parking here, apparently). A farm track then leads up the hill to the right. Follow this track uphill until you meet a fence, cross this then follow the fence up in the field until you reach the woods. The crag is hidden in the woods, brief glimpses of it can be seen as you ascend the hill.
