Crag features

Digoria is a remote and very rarely visited region of Central Cauacsaus next to the Bezengi region. It is accessible from Nalchik by bus. All the climbs start from base camp situated at the level of 1800m. From base camp to Poiana Nachashbita (3500m) 5 hours. A tent is needed.

From Nachashbita, there are several climbs cat. 2-6 lasting from 1 to 5 days.

Region is not recommended for UK citizens to visit, so in case of an accident Russians may save you free of charge. To visit this crag you need a permission of a border guard office situated in Nalchik.

Approach notes

As for me I have not ever visited more calm and serene region in entire Caucasus. Under Russian regulations both foreign and mixed origin groups are permitted to climb. In case of mixed group at least one of the Russian members would possess a qualification of Mountain Guide. All the groups are registered at base camp office to which you would 4 times a day submit information on your ascent progress and be back at least an hour before previously stated date. In case you did not submit your message or did not get back an hour before deadline, a group of climbers, one of them a doctor, will commence a search from base camp in any weather.
